Ever since I was a young kid, I knew I wanted to be a pilot. My dad was in the military and we lived on an Air National Guard base outside of Detroit. I used to watch the jets take off and land dreaming of someday flying myself. When the airshow was in town, I would wait out back for hours just to catch a glimpse of the F-117 Nighthawk arriving. I hadn't considered being a pilot was possible unless in the military.
After I achieved my Bachelor's in Business Administration, I worked in corporate finance for 8 years. I had multiple roles, transitioned from finance to sales and despite being successful in these roles, it never felt fulfilling. When COVID struck I had a whole year to reflect and reconsider how I wanted to spend my life. I decided a change was needed. I thought to myself 'what did I want to be when I grew up' and it became so clear. I took my discovery flight just before my 32nd birthday. From there, I was hooked, and started my training part-time until I became a CFI just after my 34th birthday. Today I am working as an independent flight instructor, with the ultimate goal of becoming a commercial airline pilot.
